Evergreen Township Minutes April 11, 2022
The Evergreen Township Board met April 11th for their regular meeting at Betty Janke’s. Present were: Betty Janke, Rana & Todd Holmer, Scott Ulschmid, Steve Wilkowski Jr & Dwight Drewes.
Steve called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Betty read her treasurer’s report of money paid out, money received, money on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand is $185,821.30. Scott made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Second by Todd. All present in favor.
Todd made a motion to pay bills. Second by Scott. All present in favor. Bills presented for payment are as follows: Lake Region Electric $33.51 for electric at town hall, Frazee Forum $44.80 for Annual Meeting Notice, Wolf Lake Rescue $1750.00 for annual donation, Frazee Rescue $800 for annual donation, Dennis Drewes Inc $3562.50 for snow plowing, Sonnenberg Excavating LLC for 2021 ditch clipping $768.00, Ryan Osterman $3750.00 for pushing snow banks back and Rana Holmer $58.00 for stamps. Todd motion to transfer $8,000 from savings to checking. All present in favor.
Rana informed of County Association Meeting on 4/21 at 7pm at the courthouse. She can drive for whoever wants to ride with. Received a request for a donation to the new food pantry building in Detroit Lakes. Board not interested in donating at this time. Received an email for the 2022 Census. It is completed. Also completed the ARPA reporting that is due 4/30/22. We still need to do a resolution to spend the ARPA funds as Loss Revenue. Todd motion to pass ARPA resolution, second by Steve, all present in favor. Received a letter from Becker County regarding possibly doing absentee ballots this year. Board has questions regarding the letter. Rana will email County for some answers and bring to May meeting.
Todd questioned the bill from Ryan Osterman. Dwight and Steve explained it was to push back snow banks and open intersections faster and that he has chains fro his loader and Dwight doesn’t. Todd felt that it should have been run by him & Scott prior to approving. Dwight has concerns with plowing if we get more snow due to the roads already being soft. Todd agrees as it looked like Dwight had already caught some of the gravel/edge of roads. Todd suggested he only plow in the mornings if we get more snow and if doesn’t get it finished then go back the next day and finish. Merle Hough also called Todd and wanted to know if we would need gravel and that he will be charging the same as last year $12/yd. Todd also called Grant Graham regarding doing road work on 120th st between Rader’s and Hetherington’s. He will come and check it out and give us a quote before the May meeting if all the snow is gone so he can see what he is working with.
Having no further business, Steve made a motion to adjourn. All present in favor.
Respectfully submitted, Rana Holmer, Clerk
