2021 Annual Meeting Minutes

Evergreen Township Annual Meeting Minutes 2021

The Evergreen Township Annual Meeting was held March 9, 2021 at Todd & Rana Holmer’s house at 42985 120th St.  Present was: Nathan Matejka(Frazee Fire Dept), Betty Janke, Scott Ulschmid, Todd & Rana Holmer, Dwight Drewes and Steve Wilkowski Jr.

The clerk called the meeting to order and requested a nomination of a moderator. Rana volunteered to do it since no other residents here at the moment. All present in favor.  The agenda was updated again this year to let the guests speak first.

Nathan Matejka reported there was 1 call in Evergreen in 2020 for a grass fire. They are still looking for more volunteers to join the department and have expanded the miles you live from town, so even someone from our area could join.  There was a total of 59 calls in 2020,which was up some from 51 in 2019.  They received a grant for a new fire truck. It is on order and set to arrive soon. The grant will cover about 3/4 of the cost of the new truck. Todd asked that they have an open house for the township’s to come and check it out once it arrives.  Due to the new truck expenses and repairs to the other trucks the capital improvement cost portion of our annual bill has went up.  Nathan mentioned the adaptor that Evergreen put on a nearby irrigation well was appreciated. They were down a little this year on training hours, due to Covid restrictions.  They currently have 25 members and 3 on probationary status.
