Meeting Minutes March 2022

Evergreen Township Minutes March 8th, 2022

The Evergreen Township Board met March 8th for their regular meeting at Todd & Rana Holmer’s home. Present were: Betty Janke, Rana & Todd Holmer, Scott Ulschmid, Steve Wilkowski Jr was absent.

Todd called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

Betty read her treasurer’s report of money paid out, money received, money on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand is $196,060.95. Todd made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Second by Scott. All present in favor.

Todd made a motion to pay bills. Second by Scott.  All present in favor. Bills presented for payment are as follows:  Lake Region Electric $34.03 for electric at town hall, Dennis Drewes Inc $8,367.50 for 65.5 hours of snow plowing, Scott Ulschmid $77.50 for quarterly mileage and cell phone reimburse, Steve Wilkowski Jr $105.00 for quarterly mileage and cell phone reimburse, Todd Holmer $77.50 for quarterly mileage and cell phone reimburse, Betty Janke $50.00 for computer reimburse, Rana Holmer $125.00 for computer reimburse, $1426.63 for total board wages.   No money was needed to be transferred since Becker County deposited in our checking account.

Todd mentioned he had went with his skidsteer and cleaned up by the irrigation hook up as it was drifting on that road.  Todd also questioned about how we were talking about doing the new townhall and wondered if it might be better to break it down into pieces.  For example this year we could remove the existing building and get the foundation all buried and then maybe look at where we would want to build a new building.  Maybe we wouldn’t want it in the same spot. We could then work on that for the coming year as far as where to put it and maybe get some groundwork ready for it.  Scott thought this was a good idea and would be more manageable.   Todd said any interior things or road signs that would need storage could go into our barn until we decide.  Betty mentioned that she would ask Keith about seeing if the Pioneer Grounds would be interested in the old Townhall.

Rana mentioned that the Minnesota Benefit Association had a special savings for members with Farmers Insurance Choice if anyone is interested.  The 2022 Spring Short Courses are going to be online on March 14-16th.  Rans has website info if anyone is able to participate.  MAT also sent an email about doing the ARPA reports by end of April and to make sure you are able to get logged in to the site ahead of time.

Becker County sent the reminder to pass our annual resolution designating the Becker County Courthouse as our polling place for 2022.  Todd motioned to designate the Becker County Courthouse as our polling place and Scott second it.

Rana mentioned maybe writing a letter to send to Corliss regarding the culvert on 100th st.  Might be a good idea to let them know we would be interested in getting this going where we could all designate ARPA funds to our portions of the cost.

Frazee Fire Department wants to have a meeting with Townships to discuss the terms of our contracts.  We are to let them know if Monday March 28th or Thursday the 31st work better.  Both days worked for everyone present.  Rana will let Jordin know at the City office.

Having no further business, Todd made a motion to adjourn.  All present in favor.

Respectfully submitted, Rana Holmer, Clerk
