July 2018 Minutes

Evergreen Township Minutes July  9th, 2018

The Evergreen Township Board met July 9th for their regular meeting at Todd & Rana Holmer’s home. Present were: Betty Janke, Rana & Todd Holmer,  Scott Ulschmid, Steve Wilkowski Jr and Larry Hanson.

Steve called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

Betty read her treasurer’s report of money paid out, money received, money on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand is $115,623.21. Todd made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Second by Scott. All present in favor.

Steve made a motion to pay bills. Second by Todd.  All present in favor. Bills presented for payment are as follows:  Lake Region Electric $31.64 for electric at town hall,  Dan Oelfke $3060.00 for 34 hours of road blading, Midwest Specialties $27,324 for 2484 yds class 5 gravel,   Todd motion to transfer $32,000.00 second by Scott. All present in favor.

Todd informed that Dan Oelfke did cut the trees on west side of Balsam Ave that were hanging over the road.  He also received a call from Steve Nelson, who bought property on east side of 460th ave, regarding adding an approach and checking on the need for a culvert.  Told him no culvert necessary where he is putting the approach.  Todd replaced all the gravel flagging since they were cut down during ditch mowing.  Merle also informed that he was about 90% done with graveling.  Also noticed on our weed inspections that Stan Malikowski road didn’t get ditches clipped.  Grant Graham also informed that he was unable to get sign posts out of the ground on 120th so he cut them off at ground level. Todd brought up possibly closing the west side of 110th since we don’t think anyone there in the winter.  He will try to talk to the land owners before the next meeting to confirm.

Steve mentioned that Jesse Wilkowski called about Spruce Grove not graveling or maintaining the road to his house.  Steve will contact their board.  Steve mentioned that he figures we are done graveling this year.

Scott talked to Roger Quittschreiber, who owns land on Fir Ave, regarding possibly closing the road for the winter, but he now has renters in the house that will be there year round, so we will leave it open.  Roger also mentioned the road gets greasy when it rains and may need some gravel.

Larry Hanson mentioned the knapweed in the ditch on 410th and asked if the area by his property not have the ditch clipped in the spring since he has native flowers planted there hoping to choke out the knapweed.  Todd said that Silverleaf actually maintains that road and that he will bring it up to Lee Ingvalson and Larry said he would talk to Lee also.

Betty still having issues with the bank statements.  Rana will contact the bank again.

Having no further business, Steve made a motion to adjourn.  All present in favor.

Respectfully submitted, Rana Holmer, Clerk
