Rana informed County Assn Meeting is April 9 at 6. Spring Short Course Trainings are 3/27 in Alexandria, 3/30 in Mahnomen and 4/1 in Bemidji from 9-3. Had a letter from the Assessor just reminding that we will have an open book meeting again in 2026 for our township. Letter from Auditor-Treasurer regarding mail ballot judging. They have offered to do the small townships versus us training people. Last year we still did ours, but the vast majority have the county do it now. Todd motion to let the County process our ballots this year, second from Brett.
Rana & Todd drove roads and they looked to be in really good shape with minimal gravel loss from plowing. Todd talked to Alajoki and they are charging $16/yd with a 2500 yd minimum and Menahga Concrete is charging $17/yd no minimum. This year we can easily find 2500 yds as we did less last year while trying a new gravel company. Todd motion to do 1,000 yds 460th ave(heavier north of 150th), 1,000 yds 120th st from County 39 to end of near Ross Hetherington’s, 250 yds on Fire Rd, 250 yds on Juniper, 250 yds 150th st east of 39 using Alajoki’s, Scott and Brett both second, so all present in favor. Todd also mentioned culvert marker on 150th , River Road, is leaning and a culvert marker south of townhall may need to be reset.
Scott talked aboutTownship Day at the Capital. They met with Senator Paul Utke. They informed that a 1,000 people came forward regarding fraud in the state. They are trying to exempt small Cities and Townships from MN Paid Leave. Discussed rural broadband and EMS lack of funding. Therer are 1776 townships totaling 16% of MN population.
Todd received a call from Dwight Drewes interested in giving a bid to blade our roads, said he had mentioned it to Brett. Todd informed he would also have to do snowplowing, which he wasn’t very interested in doing. Tim Drewes called on 3/10 saying he heard we were looking for someone new to blade, Todd informed that we were not looking, but Dwight did give a bid of $190/hr for blading that Todd was bringing to the board for a decision. Dan currently charges $165, which is the current rate the county pays for blading their roads. Todd motion to keep Dan, Scott & Brett second. All present in favor.
Having no further business, Todd made a motion to adjourn. Scott second. All present in favor.
Respectfully submitted, Rana Holmer, Clerk
