Evergreen Township Minutes April 13, 2026
The Evergreen Township Board met April 13thfor their regular meeting at St. Paul’s Evergreen Church. Present were: Betty Janke, Rana & Todd Holmer, Scott Ulschmid, & Brett Jepson.
Todd called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Betty read her treasurer’s report of money paid out, money received, money on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand is $243,229.80.Todd made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Second byBrett. All present in favor.
Todd made a motion to pay bills. Second by Scott. All present in favor. Bills presented for payment are as follows: Wolf Lake Rescue $2,000 for annual donation, Frazee Rescue $1,000 for annual donation, Dan Oelfke $825.00 for snow plowing, Rana Holmer $78.00 for stamp reimburse. No transfer needed this month.
Scott went to Short Course in Mahnomen will bring info next month. Brett & Scott were at the County Assn meeting. Said they are using ash from incinerator on some bases of roads for a trial. Raised dues $50/township/year. District meeting in Pelican Rapids in August. The MAT annual convention will be at Breezy Point this year. One director was let go and 1 resigned. Becker County is now going to be doing blight clean up. They said 17 out of the 37 townships do open book for their tax reviews. The County now has a spot on the website to report road issues in the county.
Todd checked with SWCD about grants for townhall site, but none are available. Found Bee Lawn with pussy toes and clover in it on MN Native Landscape site for $280 for 1000 sq feet. It stays short so it shouldn’t need to be mowed. Scott motion to buy and Brett second.
Todd called Menahga Concrete to inform we were going to use Alajoki again this year for gravel and they lowered the price to $16.50/yard. It would be nice to try the gravel on a road like Balsam. Scott motion to do 1,000 yds of Menahga Concrete gravel on Balsam Ave, Brett second. Todd will call Zach.
Discussed installing the sign we have for posting notices. We will try to do it sometime in May.
Having no further business, Todd made a motion to adjourn. All present in favor.
