November 2019 Meeting Minutes
Evergreen Township Minutes November 11th, 2019
The Evergreen Township Board met November 11th for their regular meeting at Betty Janke’s home. Present were: Betty Janke, Rana & Todd Holmer, Scott Ulschmid and Steve Wilkowski Jr.
Steve called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Betty read her treasurer’s report of money paid out, money received, money on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand is $69,133.93. Todd made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Second by Scott. All present in favor.
Steve made a motion to pay bills. Second by Todd. All present in favor. Bills presented for payment are as follows: Lake Region Electric $34.43 for electric at town hall, Dan Oelfke $3,225.00 for 32.25 hours of road blading, LM Road Services $615.00 for fall ditch clipping. Todd motion to transfer $3,900.00 second by Scott. All present in favor.
Rana informed that we must pass a resolution annually for our polling location to be the Courthouse in Detroit Lakes. Todd made the motion and second by Scott. Rana and Steve signed the resolution.
Todd did talk to his brother, Jeff, regarding the beavers in the culvert on 120th st. He didn’t get any traps set, but the beavers seemed to have moved north of the road and will probably leave it alone now for the winter. Only had to clean it out once since the last meeting. Todd also brought up that at the County Association meeting the Assessor brought up that some of the township assessors weren’t getting their work in to the county very timely. Ironically our assessor showed up at our house the next day and Todd asked him about it. He did admit he is one of the ones behind. He did say he had some health issues this year. Steve reported that a few residents had questioned the assessor showing up unannounced. Steve informed that he doesn’t need to warn them he is coming.
We will need to possibly look into finding a different ditch mower next year if LM Services doesn’t want to do ours. We will check into early next year. Todd will check with Dwight Drewes to see if they are still plowing roads this year as we haven’t heard from him otherwise.
Having no further business, Steve made a motion to adjourn. All present in favor.
