If any resident has a question or concern they can call the County Assessor’s office at 218-846-7300. Also had a letter from zoning about the retaining wall ordinance, really doesn’t affect our township. We received our notice from the MN Dept of Revenue regarding our 2026 Local Government Aid amount of $5380, which is quite a bit less than the $6,791 we received in 2025. Rana mentioned the Fall Becker County Association Meeting, which will be November 20th this year.
Scott mentioned going to the District Meeting in Cormorant, but forgot to bring the info to this meeting. He will bring it next month.
Todd reported seeing more Common Tansy this year. He has even sprayed some he has found in the ditches. He talked to Jeff Janke on 8/23 they will have the Town Hall ready to move in a couple weeks, but will need to set up with Lake Region for the move. Collette Creek culvert is plugged again. On 8/27 Alajoki informed they were done hauling. On 8/30 Jeff caught the beaver. Also sent a text to a resident with Tansy that they did mow. On 9/3 Jeff caught a second beaver in the culvert. On 9/7 Jeff Janke said that on Wednesday or Thursday they will be lifting the Townhall and are still waiting on a date from LREC. Todd did talk to Dan about cutting the blade into the road a little more to cut the washboards better.
Rana mentioned that without the Townhall we will not have a posting area. We found a message center on Uline that is larger than what we had before which is definitely needed during elections. Todd motioned for Rana to purchase the Message Center and Scott to pickup the brown treated 4×4 posts from Menards, Brett second.
Brett also received his first batch of gopher feet to take home and verify the count and dispose of them.
Having no further business, Todd made a motion to adjourn, Scott second. All present in favor.
Respectfully submitted, Rana Holmer, Clerk
