Evergreen Township Minutes October 13 ,2025
The Evergreen Township Board met October 13th for their regular meeting at St. Paul’s Evergreen Church. Present were: Betty Janke, Rana & Todd Holmer, Scott Ulschmid & Brett Jepson.
Todd called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Betty read her treasurer’s report of money paid out, money received, money on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand is $205,282.65. Todd made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Second by Scott. All present in favor.
Todd made a motion to pay bills. Second by Scott. All present in favor. Bills presented for payment are as follows: Dan Oelfke $5100.00 for 33 hours of road blading, Jeff Holmer $75 for 1 beaver from Collette Creek culvert, notice, Rana Holmer $801.67 to reimburse for new Message Board, Wyatt Jepson $378.00 for 126 gophers. Todd motion to transfer $1,000 from savings to checking, second by Scott.
Rana mentioned a County Assn meeting at the courthouse on November 20th at 7 pm. We can discuss next month. Rana will email MN Assn of Townships to update our insurance now that the Town Hall is gone. Also mentioned the upcoming MN paid leave that does affect us also. Rana will need to set us up on their website. She ran a rough estimate of the premium based on our payroll from 2024 and it showed employee contributions of about $54 and township contribution of about $27. Also received a request from Arvig to install some fiber optic lines on some roads. Todd motioned approval for them to install and Scott second. Rana will email them back.
On 9/17 Erik Ehnert called Todd asking about the gravel from Alajoki as they also got some this year. Todd feels like part of the problem is a lack of rain to pack the gravel. We will continue to watch how the gravel holds up going forward. Had a call from a Josh Johnson regarding gopher trapping in our township. Asked about pay and if we do a 1099 if high enough income and informed if not a resident he will need the landowner to give us a note of consent. On 10/5 cut trees on 460th, 140th, 440th North of 87. Todd said he wished all our residents were like Gayle Beckner who used her 4 wheeler to pull a tree off the road and then informed us about it. On 10/10 the culvert on Collette Creek is plugged again and on 10/13 the beaver was caught.
Having no further business, Todd made a motion to adjourn. All present in favor.
Respectfully submitted, Rana Holmer, Clerk
