Meeting Minutes-October 2022

Evergreen Township Minutes October 10, 2022

The Evergreen Township Board met October 10th for their regular meeting at Todd & Rana’s home. Present were: Betty Janke, Rana & Todd Holmer,  Scott Ulschmid. Steve Wilkowski Jr was absent.

Todd called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

Betty read her treasurer’s report of money paid out, money received, money on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand is $154,356.64. Todd made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Second by Scott. All present in favor.

Scott made a motion to pay bills. Second by Todd.  All present in favor. Bills presented for payment are as follows:  Lake Region Electric $32.94 for electric at town hall,  Dan Oelfke $3812.50 for 30.5 hours of road blading & board wages of $210.49.  Scott motion to transfer $2,000 from savings to checking, second by Todd.

Rana mentioned a County Assn meeting at the courthouse on October 20 at 7 pm.  Betty said she could drive.

Todd called Dwight and he did agree to plow our roads again this winter.  He would like an increase in the hourly rate to $140 from $125. Todd motioned to raise the snowplow rate to $140 per hour, second by Scott.  Also will need to adjust the retainer rate to reflect the new rate.

Todd reported that the Frazee, Perham & Wolf Lake fire departments used 9500 gallons from irrigation well on Darrell Bahls barn fire on September 21st.  Noticed that when they fill the trucks that the water pours out of truck when full and may need to add more gravel in that area.  Todd motion to put 2 dump truck loads of gravel by the well from Merle.  If not now this Fall then in the Spring.  Second by Scott.

On Oct 7 received a call from Robert Bugher that lives on Hwy 87 south of Litzau’s. The reason is his land is locked in the back due to beavers on Litzau’s building a dam and backing up the water.  Told him he should first talk to Kevin and if he doesn’t make headway than let us know again.  Did tell him that  Todd’s brother did do some trapping in there in last couple years, so maybe Litzau’s will ask him again.

On Oct 10 Ross Hetherington on end of 120th said his end didn’t get ditch clipped.  Todd called Jeremy and he will come back and do it when back in the area.  We drove the road and most areas would be fine without the clipping.  Also noticed the Weight limit post and sign missing and the stop ahead sign missing on 100th st.    Will mark the remaining portion of post sticking out.  The stop ahead isn’t required there since you can see the stop sign from  a good distance.  Todd will call Grant Graham and check on replacement costs.

Scott received a call from Jeff with “Gunnick Construction?”  that has a gravel pit over by Menahga.  They are checking to see if townships have an interest in getting gravel from them.  Todd will try and call him. (320-212-9377)

Having no further business, Todd  made a motion to adjourn.  All present in favor.

Respectfully submitted, Rana Holmer, Clerk
