Meeting Minutes October 2021

Evergreen Township Minutes October 11, 2021

The Evergreen Township Board met October 11th for their regular meeting at Betty Janke’s home. Present were: Betty Janke, Rana & Todd Holmer,  Scott Ulschmid & Steve Wilkowski Jr.

Steve called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

Betty read her treasurer’s report of money paid out, money received, money on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand is $138,558.09. Todd made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Second by Scott. All present in favor.

Steve made a motion to pay bills. Second by Todd.  All present in favor. Bills presented for payment are as follows:  Lake Region Electric $33.22 for electric at town hall,  Dan Oelfke $3795.00 for 34.5 hours of road blading, Vern Jorgenson $110.00 for 40 gophers, Rana Holmer $50.72 reimbursement for theft resistant nuts for signs, & board wages of 140.32.  No transfer needed this month.

Supervisor’s looked over the Becker County Hwy Dept road report and agree we are still at 24.080 miles of township roads.  Rana will mail the signed forms back tomorrow.

Todd called Dwight and he did agree to plow our roads again this winter.  He may want an increase in the hourly rate and will let us know.  Dwight did say that he bought a new V plow for his grader, which would be better for snow plowing.  Todd suggested that we have Steve be the one contact for Dwight since he is the first one out in the morning on the township roads.  Steve agreed he will be the one to contact Dwight about plowing, so we can have a more consistent communication with Dwight and hopefully get him out earlier.  Todd also received a text from Ross Hetherington saying he had hauled 5 loads of crushed concrete on his driveway and said that should have helped to pack 120th st.  Todd did receive the anti-theft nuts and will put the signs up in the near future.  Also called MN State regarding the 430th ave and Hwy 87 approach being very soft.  They said Mark’s Sand & Gravel aware of it and they will be back to pack it and tar it.

Steve said he did text Torey again a couple weeks ago regarding the road ditch clipping.  He received no response and still isn’t clipped.  Almost thinking they won’t get clipped this year.  Todd had checked with Cro’s Custom Services and L & M and both wouldn’t have time to do our ditches until maybe the end of November.

Scott received a call from Vance Bachmann regarding the Toad River culvert that we share on 100th st.  Vance said that Ottertail County is thinking they want it replaced in the near future with an estimated cost of $500,000.  Scott has tried to call Vance back, but they keep playing phone tag at this point.

Board discussed some options for a new Town Hall building.  Todd & Rana will work on getting estimates on a building apprx size of double garage, post frame style.

Having no further business, Steve  made a motion to adjourn.  All present in favor.

Respectfully submitted, Rana Holmer, Clerk
