Meeting Minutes November 2025
Evergreen Township Minutes November 10th, 2025
The Evergreen Township Board met November 10th for their regular meeting at St. Paul’s Evergreen Church. Present were: Betty Janke, Rana & Todd Holmer, Brett Jepson, Scott Ulschmid & Donna Ulschmid.
Todd called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Betty read her treasurer’s report of money paid out, money received, money on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand is $203,137.86. Betty reported that the October balance was incorrect and should have been $205,284.65. Todd made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report and the corrected October report. Second by Scott. All present in favor.
Todd made a motion to pay bills. Second by Brett. All present in favor. Bills presented for payment are as follows: Dan Oelfke $5,025 for 33.5 hours of road blading, Lm Road Services $1,155 for Fall ditch clipping. Todd motioned to transfer $6,000, second by Scott. All present in favor.
Rana talked about the MN Paid Leave that will affect our township. The approximate cost is about $81 per year based on 2024 wages. Since we are a small business with less that 30 employees we qualify for the rate of .66%. We need to designate a paid leave administrator and decide if we have the township cover the entire premium or if the employees should cover the .44% from their salaries. Todd motion for the township to cover the .66% for the employees & Rana to be the administrator, second by Brett. All present in favor.
Rana also mentioned that with Dan Oelfke’s snow plowing increasing from $150/hour to $165/hour that his retainer will also increase to $825 for the month’s of December, January, February and March if he doesn’t plow during the month.
MN Assn of Townships Annual Meeting in St. Cloud is Dec 11-13 if anyone is interested in attending. The Becker County Assn meeting is November 20 at 7pm at the courthouse in Detroit Lakes.
Todd mentioned that the fuel tank is the only thing left at the town hall site. Also mentioned that Jeff Holmer was wondering if we could clean out the culvert on Collette Creek as there is lots of beaver debris in the inside of it. Todd said he could check with Grant Graham and if price isn’t too high to just get it done yet this fall. Brett and Scott agree that the culvert probably needs a good cleaning. Todd also mentioned that the new message board that we are installing by the recycling bins is in our turkey barn for winter storage, as the ground is much to dry to dig holes for the posts. We will install next spring.
Brett received a call from Kenny Rader regarding the Amish parking in ditch/edge of 120th street to the east of his place. He was concerned about the safety of this with all the fast traffic on their road. Brett talked to the Amish to move their buggy off the road in the future.
Having no further business, Todd made a motion to adjourn. All present in favor.
Respectfully submitted, Rana Holmer, Clerk
