Evergreen Township Minutes January 8, 2024
The Evergreen Township Board met January 8th for their regular meeting at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Present were: Betty Janke, Rana & Todd Holmer, Scott Ulschmid & Brett Jepson.
Todd called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Betty read her treasurer’s report of money paid out, money received, money on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand is $169,225.35. Todd made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Second by Scott. All present in favor.
Todd made a motion to pay bills. Second by Scott. All present in favor. Bills presented for payment are as follows: Rana Holmer $83.88 for reimbursement of website domain, IRS for 944 quarterly $347.28 MN Assn of Townships $470.24 for annual dues, St Paul’s Lutheran Church $1,200 for rent for 2024 & Dan Oelfke $500 for snow plow retainer. Lake Region bill has not shown up yet in the mail or online. Rana will pay it for January and get reimbursed in February. No transfer needed this month . Also noted that the transfer was not needed in December due to COunty Deposit, Rana notified Betty that no transfer was made.
Rana & Betty mentioned that a quite a bit of money is sitting in the checking account that would get more interest in the Money Market. Todd motion to transfer $20,000 to Money Market, second by Scott. All present in favor.
Todd mentioned that Jeff Molander is interested in taking the big tree in the ditch near his property along 430th. Todd was invited to be on a Hazard Mitigation meeting with the County. Todd mentioned snowplowing at the church and Scott said he would discuss with Elders or at the council meeting coming up.
Brett received a call from Kenny Rader questioning increase in taxes and why road projects were done. He thought we were being secretive. Brett was able to inform of our website and meeting date, time and location.
Meeting with the fire department on January 31. Everyone except Brett planning to go. The meeting is from 6-8 at the firehall.
Having no further business, Todd made a motion to adjourn. Scott second. All present in favor.
