Meeting Minutes- February 2024

Evergreen Township Minutes February 12th, 2024

The Evergreen Township Board met February 12th for their regular meeting at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Present were: Betty Janke, Rana & Todd Holmer,  Brett Jepson.  Scott Ulschmid was absent.

Todd called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

Betty read her treasurer’s report of money paid out, money received, money on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand is $174,003.48. Todd made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Second by Brett. All present in favor.

Todd made a motion to pay bills. Second by Brett.  All present in favor. Bills presented for payment are as follows:  Lake Region Electric $50.32 for electric at town hall,  Minnesota Benefit Association $805.00 for board life insurance, Dan Oelfke $750 for snowplowing in January, Rana Holmer $50.95 reimbursement for January Townhall electric bill.    No need to transfer funds there is  enough in checking from Becker County deposits. All present in favor.  Todd motion to transfer $10,000 to the savings account for better interest, second by Brett.

Annual Review of the books.  On claim 5393 the check #  5413 transposed the payment from $1869 to $1896.  Otherwise everything matched.  

Rana mentioned Annual Meeting is Tuesday March 12th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 7pm. We will do our regular March meeting after the Annual meeting.  Rana also mentioned that the Annual Boundary Survey and the MATIT work comp audit were both completed  The Annual State Auditor CTAS review has a software issue and have been unable to complete as of yet.    The weed meeting will be in Callaway from 8:30-11 am on March 21.  Todd & Rana planning to attend.

Todd reported that Dan did go out and cleaned up the roads on 1/11.  It took him 5 hours and he used his truck.  On 1/20  Merle Hough called and is still planning on doing gravel this year and it will be same price as last year.  At the fire meeting it was reported that we had 8 calls to Evergreen which has now significantly raised our rates for this year.  The fireman absolutely love our hydrant hookup that is on Andrew Ingvalson’s irrigation well.  Todd asked about us putting signage up to help them and other departments finding the location.  They thought that was a great idea and thought there should be one on Cty road 39 and one by the “Fire Rd”.  Todd is checking into signs and costs.

 Having no further business, Todd made a motion to adjourn,  second by Brett, all present in favor.
