Evergreen Township Minutes December 11,2023
The Evergreen Township Board met December 11th for their regular meeting at St. Paul’s Evergreen Church. Present were: Betty Janke, Rana & Todd Holmer, Scott Ulschmid & Brett Jepson.
Todd called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Betty read her treasurer’s report of money paid out, money received, money on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand is $127,410.42 Todd made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Second by Scott. All present in favor.
Todd made a motion to pay bills. Second by Scott. All present in favor. Bills presented for payment are as follows: Lake Region Electric $36.87 for electric at town hall, Dan Oelfke for road blading $2362.50, Scott Ulschmid $77.50 for mileage and cell reimburse, Brett Jepson $77.50 for mileage and cell reimburse, Todd Holmer $105.00 for mileage and cell reimburse, Betty Janke $50.00 for computer & mileage reimburse, Rana Holmer $232.17 for computer, stamps, website fee & mileage reimburse, PERA $277.50 for quarterly DCP, Rana Holmer $1233.00 for 411 gophers, MN Assn of Townships $364.00 for work comp insurance, Warren Bachmann $213.00 for 71 gophers, Dennis Drewes Inc $3,300 for seeding on 430th Ave, Graham Excavating LLC $622.18 for double arrow sign replacement on 120th/430th and $2,596.01 in total board wages. Todd motion to transfer $12,000 second by Scott.
Rana informed that there will be 3 elections for our township next year. The Presidential Nomination Primary on March 5, Primary on August 13 and the General Election on November 5. Julie Slevin has agreed to judge with Rana. PNP judge training is January 9th from 9-Noon in Detroit Lakes. The Frazee Fire Department sent an email requesting if January 31 from 6-8 will work for us for our annual meeting with the fire department. Scott, Betty, Rana & Todd will probably attend and that night works for us. Rana also mentioned there is a survey on the Becker County website wanting the public’s input on what we see as needs in the county. Our Annual Meeting is Tuesday March 12th. Scott will check with the church to see if we can have our meeting on the Tuesday versus our reqular one on Monday.
Todd reported he checked on Gayle Beckner’s for the gopher & thistle problem reported by Warren Bachmann. He did not see a problem with Gayle’s property. Received a call from Dallas Slevin regarding Cedar looking rough after Dan bladed it. Talked to Dan and he reported he was having some issues as he was using his old blade as the new one is set up for snow plowing. He will come back and blade it again. The road did look better after second blading, but probably could use gravel next year and maybe we should post the road for 5 ton as it appears to get heavy traffic on it. Drewes got the seeding done on 430th so that project is completed. Also completed the Annual Noxious Weed Report for the County and replaced a culvert marker on 430th that got knocked down. Also questioned Scott if he knew who would pay for plowing if we needed it at the church for our meeting. Scott was unsure, but will ask and report back.
Having no further business, Todd made a motion to adjourn. All present in favor.
