March 2018 Meeting Minutes

Evergreen Township Minutes March 12th, 2018

The Evergreen Township Board met March 12th for their regular meeting at Betty Janke’s home. Present were: Betty Janke, Rana & Todd Holmer, Scott Ulschmid, & Steve Wilkowski Jr.

Steve called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

Betty read her treasurer’s report of money paid out, money received, money on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand is $100,981.59. Todd made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Second by Scott. All present in favor.

Steve made a motion to pay bills. Second by Todd.  All present in favor. Bills presented for payment are as follows:  Lake Region Electric $33.80 for electric at town hall, Dennis Drewes Inc $3850 for 38.5 hours of snow plowing,   Warren Bachmann $99.00 for 36 gophers, Scott Ulschmid $87.50 for quarterly mileage and cell phone reimburse, Steve Wilkowski Jr $115.00 for quarterly mileage and cell phone reimburse, Todd Holmer $77.50 for quarterly mileage and cell phone reimburse, Betty Janke $50.00 for computer reimburse, Rana Holmer $152.18 for computer, mileage and printer ink reimburse and $2198.41 for total board wages.   Todd motion to transfer $6700.00 second by Scott. All present in favor.

Steve mentioned that he wasn’t sure about Merle Hough’s health for hauling gravel this year.  He will call and check with him.  Todd will call Anderson Gravel to see what their hauling cost is and the % of binder in the gravel.  If Merle not hauling this year we may need to put an ad in the paper for gravel quotes.  We will decide at the April meeting.

On February 15th Todd received a call from Ross Hetherington about 120th drifting shut.  Todd checked it out and had Dwight come and open it up.  We may need to talk to Craig Bruns, who has land beside the road, to put up snow fence next year to stop some of the drifting.  Todd said Dwight also mentioned having issues turning around in Jim Schultz’s yard and in Stan Malikowski’s.  We may need to send them both a letter this spring regarding the need for them to make room for him to turn around.

Steve also mentioned that we should get the ditch slope on 440th by Mike Meier’s fixed this year.  It is too steep.

Todd also received a call for an overweight permit to Lakes Coop in Perham for hauling milk on 460th Ave from Brett Jepson’s.  Steve thought that milk trucks were exempt.  Rana will verify that, but felt we would be safe just authorizing them the permit just in case.  Todd will put our weight limit signs back up on 1ooth st once the county has their signs up.

All Day Spring Short Course in Mahnomen on April 2nd.  Everyone planning to go at this time and Rana will drive.

Annual Meeting tomorrow night at 7pm at Rana and Todd’s.

Having no further business, Steve made a motion to adjourn.  All present in favor.

Respectfully submitted, Rana Holmer, Clerk
