Evergreen Township Annual Meeting Minutes 2020
The Evergreen Township Annual Meeting was held March 10, 2020 at Todd & Rana Holmer’s house at 42985 120th St. Present was: Albert Doll(Frazee Fire Dept), Betty Janke, Scott Ulschmid, Todd & Rana Holmer, Dwight Drewes and Steve Wilkowski Jr.
The clerk called the meeting to order and requested a nomination of a moderator. Todd nominated Dwight and a second by Scott. All present in favor. The agenda was updated again this year to let the guests speak first.
Albert Doll reported there were 2 calls in Evergreen in 2019. One structure fire and 1 misc run. They are still looking for more volunteers to join the department and have expanded the miles you leave from town, so even someone from our area could join. There was a total of 51 calls in 2019 which was done some from 64 in 2018. They are applying for more grants for a newer truck and other needed equipment. Rana mentioned that we have an irrigation well that was just done down the road and wondered about getting an attachment to it if that would be something the fire department would be interested in. Albert said they would be and can check on the costs for that, but thought it was around $500. Todd will contact the landowner and see if he would be willing to do it and will let the fire department know.
The minutes from the Annual Meeting in 2019 were read by the clerk. Todd motion to approve the minutes, second by Scott. All present in favor. The treasurer gave her report of all monies received, all monies paid out, and all monies on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand as of December 31, 2019 is $113,305.12. Todd made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Second by Scott. All present in favor.
Supervisor’s gave a road report map that showed roads that were graveled and had shoulders pulled in. Planning 2020 for more gravel on roads and still have the culvert on 140th on the back burner to extend the ends.
Road & Bridge: Steve motioned to leave this until the September 8, 2020 regular meeting. Todd second and all present in favor.
Fire & Rescue: Todd made a motion to leave the levy at $15,000 and to do the same donations to Wolf Lake Rescue of $1750 and to Frazee Rescue of $800. Second by Steve. All present in favor.
General Revenue: Todd motion to leave the levy at $25,000. Second by Scott. All present in favor.
Gophers: Todd motion to leave the levy at $5,000. Second by Scott. All present in favor.
Scott motion to leave the bounty at $2.75 with a landowner signature if the trapper is not a resident of Evergreen. Second by Steve. All present in favor.
Newspaper: Todd motion to leave it with the Frazee Forum. Second by Scott. All present in favor.
Postings: Leave the same with postings at the Town Hall and the Clerk’s house. May look into moving the sign at the Town Hall closer to the recycle bins or at least on the west side of the building. Motion by Steve, second by Todd. All present in favor.
Meetings: Todd motion to leave the meeting times and locations the same. Second by Scott. All present in favor. Meetings May- October at Todd and Rana’s house and the November-April at Betty Janke’s house at 7 p.m. on 2nd Monday of the month.
Annual Meeting Location & Time: Todd motion to leave the meeting at 7 p.m. at Todd and Rana’s on 2nd Tuesday of March. Second by Steve. All present in favor.
Old business: None
New Business: Dwight mentioned some possible road work to 460th to reshape the road by pulling the shoulders in and then rolling the road. Steve said we would need to do a road check first. Probably talk about it at the April regular meeting.
Steve motioned to adjourn for tonight and revisit the road and bridge in September to set that levy. Second by Todd. All present in favor.
