Evergreen Township Minutes September 14th, 2026

The Evergreen Township Board met September14^thfor their regular meeting at St. Paul’s Evergreen Church. Present were: Betty Janke, Rana & Todd Holmer, Scott Ulschmid and Brett Jepson.

Todd called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

Betty read her treasurer’s report of money paid out, money received, money on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand is $262,103.71. Todd made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Second by Brett. All present in favor.

Todd made a motion to pay bills. Second by Scott. All present in favor. Bills presented for payment are as follows: Dan Oelfke $5700.00 for 38 hours of road blading, Alajoki Sand & gravel $40,851.68 for 2552.23 yds of class 5 gravel, Scott Ulschmid $77.50 for cell and mileage reimburse, Brett Jepson $127.50 for cell, chainsaw and mileage reimburse, Todd Holmer $155.00 for cell , chainsaw and mileage reimburse, Betty Janke $50.00 for computer reimburse, Rana Holmer $125.00 for computer reimburse, PERA $320.00 for quarterly DCP, MN Paid Leave $ 21.12 for 3 rd quarter, MN Assn of Township $466.72 for annual dues, and total board wages of $2291.97. Todd motion to transfer $50,000 second by Scott, all present in favor.

Rana brought the Annual Road Mileage Certification. Todd motion to approve, Scott second. All present in favor. ARPA has now been officially closed out, so no more reporting needed. Annual Meeting Road & Bridge needs approval, Todd motion to leave at $90,000, Scott second. All present in favor. Township Assn meeting is on October 22 at 6pm in DL.

Todd & Brett both noted that some of the gravel seems pretty rocky in spots. Dan has been blading and getting everything worked in. Brett noted that Briard’s drug a building down 460^th on wood poles. The poles wore down significantly so they ended up putting it on a trailer and hauling the rest of the way. Todd talked to Menahga Concrete and they did receive all our checks just aren’t deposited yet. On 8/6 Todd had looked at a weed that showed on an app as a possible Amaranth, so MN Dept of Ag came and looked and it was a Water Hemp, which is a type of Amaranth. Also gave out herbicide for Hounds Tongue as it is on the noxious weed list. Had a perfect trifecta this year with handing out herbicide to Silverleaf, Toad Lake & Spruce Grove residents, besides Evergreen residents. Met with Alajoki on the Fire Rd for gravel. On 9/11 called Grant regarding bogs in Collette Creek blocking the culvert. Grant suggested we get fill beside the culvert, so he can have better angle to force and clean out culvert better. Brett motion to put the approaches in & Scott second. Estimated cost is $1500-$2000. Todd will contact Grant and will check with Ed Clem, SWCD to make sure it is ok to do by the creek.

Having no further business, Todd made a motion to adjourn, Scott second. All present in favor.
