Evergreen Township Minutes June 8th, 2026

The Evergreen Township Board met June 8th for their regular meeting at St. Paul’s Evergreen Church. Present were: Betty Janke, Rana & Todd Holmer, Scott Ulschmid, Brett Jepson.

Todd called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.

Betty read her treasurer’s report of money paid out, money received, money on hand in savings and checking. Balance on hand is $233,358.66. Todd made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Second by Brett. All present in favor.

Todd made a motion to pay bills. Second by Brett. All present in favor. Bills presented for payment are as follows: Scott Ulschmid $288.28 for quarterly mileage, cell reimburse and Spring Short Course/mileage & message board post reimbursement, Brett Jepson $127.50 quarterly mileage,chainsaw & cell reimburse, Todd Holmer $105 for quarterly mileage & cell reimburse, Betty Janke $50 for computer reimburse, Rana Holmer $125.00 for computer reimburse, Pera $267.50 for quarterly DCP, Dan Oelfke $5,400.00 for 36 hours of road blading, Ernest Jepson Jr $111 for 37 gophers, Menahga Concrete $16,628.20 for 1007.77 yds of class 5 gravel, MN paid Leave $17.66 for second quarter and $2,502.45 in total board wages. Todd motion to transfer $26,000 from savings to checking Scott second. All present in favor.

Rana handed out the MAT membership cards. Minnesota State Demographic Center sent annual population and household estimates. Our population is up by 2 people and are up by 1 household. Also mentioned that the overweight permits for Dallas Slevin, George Lepisto & Chuck Lepisto on Cedar Ave expire July 1st. Can we motion to extend them for one year? Todd motion to extend to July 1st 2027, Brett second. Rana will send a copy of the original permit with the updated expiration date on it. ARPA certification is done for the year. Rana & Julie Slevin will be doing election judge training. Must have people trained in the event there is a special election. Ron Malvick property on north Balsam is up for sale by the county due to tax forfeited. Candidate filing begins July 14-July 28th. Scott & Betty are up for election this year.

Todd reported that Menahga Concrete has finished hauling gravel on Balsam. Bill Lindow put an approach in just south of Mike Meier’s. Kyle King reported he is putting chloride on the road in front of his house. Haven’t completed a weed inspection yet. Received a call from Ross Hetherington that 120th st was really sloppy on the top of the hills. Contacted Alajoki to see if they are able to haul yet and they said it will be the end of July due to the County using their pit for road projects by there. Todd would like to have Menahga Concrete haul on the road ASAP if Alajoki can’t do it. Brett motion to have Menahga do east end of 120th st if Alajoki unable to do it ASAP. Todd second. Todd & Rana planted bee lawn & pussy toes at old townhall site. Scott, Todd & Rana installed the message board.

Having no further business, Todd made a motion to adjourn. Scott second. All present in favor.
